From the moment you enter the lobby at the Four Seasons Bora Bora you are transported to an island paradise unlike any other. Located in French Polynesia, Bora Bora is surrounded by vibrant turquoise water and stunning 360-degree views. Typical of the Four Seasons’ brand, the service here is phenomenal, and every single detail has been taken care of making it the best Bora Bora family vacation destination.
Bora Bora is a bucket list destination, and one commonly associated with honeymoons. Although this idyllic vacation spot does ooze romantic vibes, it also is the perfect place for the most memorable family vacation. We spent five nights at the Four Seasons and enjoyed the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation and sunshine.
If you are considering Bora Bora for a family vacation, then selecting the right hotel is the most important step. Many properties are focused on couples and because of that they aren’t ideal for families.
Question: What is the best hotel for a Bora Bora family vacation?
Answer: The Four Seasons Bora Bora! Keep reading to learn why this resort should be on the top of your Tahiti family vacation list!
Family-friendly Activities & Amenities
There are many onsite and offsite activities for families at the Four Seasons. Onsite activities include snorkeling in the interior lagoons, paddleboarding, kayaking, tennis, yoga, arts and crafts, and so much more. Offsite activities are also abundant. Our favorite excursion was a half-day snorkeling tour where we swam with black tip reef sharks and stingrays.
When you arrive, kids are greeted with a welcome gift and a treasure hunt map, while parents will enjoy the bottle of chilled wine. Both of these luxury touches set the stage for an amazing vacation for parents and kids!
Overwater Bungalows
This property is the most magical place our family has ever visited. Each morning, we would wake up, put on our swimsuits, and jump from our deck into the water!
Everywhere you look is the brightest turquoise and crystal-clear water, white sand, and towering palm trees. Each room is an overwater bungalow, with plenty of space for families to spread out. There is a lot of storage space, a separate living room and bedroom, expansive patio, dual vanities, and a variety of seating options.
Kids Club
One of the things consistent with Four Seasons properties are their amazing and fully staffed kids clubs. And the kids club in Bora Bora was no exception. Our son loved visiting and spending time with other kids. The programming at the kids club spanned kayaking, swimming, games, building sandcastles, and so much more. Each day they had a new schedule, and kids can drop in whenever they want.
Traveling with teenagers? Well, this property has them covered too! There’s a separate teen hangout spot for the older kids. With all these options, parents are guaranteed to have some quiet time while the kids are having tons of fun, in a safe environment.
Dining, Swimming and Star Gazing
The main pool is set next to the white sand beach. The pool and beach both provide plenty of shaded seating, and full service. And make sure to drink the fresh coconut water, which is served in a chilled coconut! Something we have also found with Four Seasons, is they often provide complimentary, reef-safe sunscreen. We always check on this before we visit, and it helps reduce the need to pack it with you. During our stay, the pool was never too crowded, and we spent most of our time lounging in one of the huge cabanas, which were complimentary.
There are several restaurants onsite, and if you don’t want to leave your bungalow, there’s room service. We found the food to be fantastic, and each restaurant offered kids menus. One of the nights, we ordered pizza and a bottle of wine to-go and dined on our patio while gazing at the stars!
For breakfast, I highly recommend the buffet. After two visits the staff remembered us, and when we sat down, they automatically brought us our coffees of choice! It’s these details that make a stay memorable! Plus, the buffet has so many choices to make everyone in your family happy.
Getting to Bora Bora
The hotel is situated on its own island, accessible only by boat. Once you land at the Bora Bora airport, you find the Four Seasons’ kiosk, and they whisk you onto a luxury boat for a 20-minute ride to your bucket list destination.
We will always remember our time in Bora Bora and hope to return! In the meantime, I will have the memories and photos of our family vacay there! And if you’d like to read about our vacation to the Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico, click here.
