We live in Idaho and are surrounded by mountains. However, the mountains in Jackson Hole are on a whole other level. The mountains and scenery here are indescribable, but I will give it my best try.
For years we have wanted to visit this iconic mountain destination and stay at the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. The resort is incredible, and even the drive here was beautiful.
Jackson Hole is about 5.5 hours from Boise, and the last 1.5 hours were the most beautiful driving scenery we have ever encountered. And the bonus, was that we timed our road trip with the turn of fall and the colors were stunning. We passed rivers, creeks, green pastures, and mountain backdrops that kept making us want to pull over to take pictures.
The Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole is right at the base of the mountain in Teton Village. There are a handful of hotels, restaurants, and shops located here which all share the mountain backdrop.
The Four Seasons Jackson Hole defines mountain luxury. With a mix of rustic, Western, and modern decor it strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and ruggedness. The rooms are well appointed with so many little touches that elevate this hotel. We stayed in a valley view, 2-Queen room which had a small table, fireplace, and balcony. Additionally, it had a large walk-in closet and bathroom with a soaker tub.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the tablet which allowed you to order room service, request housekeeping, and even order a kid-sized robe… which was delivered promptly. The service here is impeccable! When we checked into our room, they had even pre-filled our ice bucket, which came in handy.
Year-round Heated Pool
The heated, year-round outdoor pool is the perfect place for families to splash and play. There are several hot tubs surrounding the pool, which is large and heated to the perfect temperature. And something that I’ve never seen before was a towel and robe warmer — which we took full advantage of. Grab a comfy lounger, relax in your heated robe, enjoy the sounds of the aspen trees, and take a dip in the pool — or hot tub.
Dining at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole
We dined at every restaurant this hotel has to offer including room service — which is my favorite way to have breakfast when traveling. Westbank Grill is open for breakfast and dinner, and we enjoyed dinner there on our first night. It is a rustic and elegant restaurant with a gigantic chandelier in the center. We had great appetizers, entrees, and a chocolate chip cookie in a skillet with ice cream for dessert. Delicious!
The Ascent Lounge is located just off the lobby, and we loved sitting outside with our own fire pit. Kids will love the s’mores kits and adults will love the food items and especially the old fashioned with local whisky.
Lastly, the Handle Bar Pub is the resort’s newest addition. It offers indoor and outdoor seating with upscale American-style fare. Make sure to order their homemade pretzel as an appetizer, which was the softest, and most delicious pretzel we have ever had… and still talking about!
Onsite Activities
There are so many year-round activities for families in Jackson. But onsite, there’s also plenty to do. There’s a dedicated kids’ club with a pool table, video games, and other activities. Also, upon check in kids are offered some activities and games they can take to their room and keep. Our little guy selected a book, which we read that night.
The bonus of being at this hotel is the proximity to the mountain. You literally step out the back doors, and you’re steps to the tram and lifts. We rode the tram to the top of the mountain and hiked around the peak, which was so beautiful.
The hotel also offers a variety of experiences, including stargazing. Jackson has some of the darkest skies in the country, which make it the perfect place to enjoy the stars. The hotel was booked when we visited, but they did recommend another company, Wyoming Stargazing, which was so fun. *Article on this activity, will be posted soon.
Overall, if you’re looking for a hotel with access to outdoor activities, upscale dining, heated pool, and family entertainment, then checkout the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole.
