Oregon Coast Packing List for a Fun Day on the Beach
- Blankets. You’ll want one to sit on, and maybe some to bundle up with if it’s a chilly day.
- Cooler backpack or small cooler. Fill it with your favorite beverages and snacks.
- Insulated beverage container. If it’s a chilly day I recommend bringing a warm beverage.
- Layered clothes. The weather can change quickly. And if you’re wearing pants, make sure you can easily roll them up.
- Dog supplies. Dogs love the coast. So, if you’re bringing a pup make sure to have a few toys, water with collapsible bowl, and poop bags on hand.
- Frisbee or Football. We play frisbee for hours on the beach. Check out the post about the Salishan Coastal Lodge for our favorite frisbee recommendations.
- Kite. Flying a kite on the beach is such a fun experience, and something everyone can do.
- Sand toys. Don’t forget these! The sand here is perfect for building sandcastles.
- Water shoes. These are essential for running to and from the ocean tide or jumping small streams and puddles with your kids and pets. You can wear sneakers, but once they get wet, it’s not so comfortable.
- Towels. Dry off those wet feet or sandy legs!
- Bag to collect treasures. There are so many shells, rocks, and other treasures that you’ll want to keep.
- Collapsible wagon. We got ours from Costco. It folds up easily to store in the back of an SUV or roof box.
- Hats or hair ties. The wind is great for kites but can be annoying for hair.
- Life jackets. We always pack a life jacket for our son. Even though you we aren’t swimming in the water, we feel more comfortable when he’s splashing around.
